Invoicing service provider Ropo Capital has reached an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Posti Messaging AB in Sweden and Posti Messaging AS in Norway (jointly “Posti Messaging Scandinavia”). Through the acquisition, Ropo Capital will strengthen its Scandinavian footprint significantly by expanding into Norway and further strengthen its offering in Sweden.
Posti Messaging Scandinavia is a major provider of multichannel invoicing and corporate messaging solutions including document management and printing, sending and receiving for electronic and paper documents. Its customer base consists of private corporations and public organisations with high-volume sending needs.
Posti Messaging’s service offering will strengthen Ropo Capital’s invoice lifecycle service, which streamlines the entire invoicing process from invoice delivery to payment monitoring and receivables management.
Ropo Capital serves more than 10,000 customers. With this acquisition, the number of invoices and other documents managed by Ropo Capital exceeds 170 million. In addition, Ropo Capital Group will have around 370 employees, with six offices in Finland, Sweden and Norway.
“We offer customers a unique service concept that covers the whole value chain of invoice lifecycle management,” says Rickard Westlund, CEO of Ropo Capital. “By combining Posti´s great experience in efficient information logistics with our leading technology and profound expertise in credit management, we are renewing two traditional industries to generate more value for our customers. We have a strong market position in Finland and a well-known business model. We now look forward to offering our customers similar solutions also in Sweden and Norway.”
In 2019, Posti Messaging Scandinavia’s net sales amounted to around EUR 38 million. It has around 100 employees in Sweden and Norway. After the transaction is closed, Ropo Capital Group’s total revenue will increase to approximately EUR 94 million.
“Our goal is to be the leader in invoice lifecycle management in the Nordics,” says Rasmus Molander, Chairman of the Board of Ropo Capital. “Through this acquisition we will meaningfully strengthen our position in Sweden and Norway and enable even faster growth going forward.”
The divestment of Posti Messaging Scandinavia is in line with Posti’s strategy. In Finland, Posti Messaging operations will continue as normal and do not form part of the transaction.
“We are pleased that Posti Messaging Scandinavia’s talented personnel will join the team of invoicing lifecycle services specialists at Ropo Capital. By combining forces, these two companies can offer an even broader service portfolio to their customers,” says Tero Rantaniitty, Vice President, Corporate Messaging at Posti Group. “I am confident Ropo Capital is a good new owner for Posti Messaging Scandinavia, benefiting both personnel and customers.”
The transaction is subject to customary competition authority clearance in Sweden and is expected to close by the end of 2020. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
